The Châteauguay Basketball Association (CBA) is a non-profit recreational sports association that offers children, between the ages of 5 and 17 years of age, opportunities to participate and enjoy the game of basketball in a community setting.
The CBA offers programs to suit player needs ranging from the experienced competitive player to those who are just starting out. Both practice and league play are designed to offer equal measures of player enjoyment (FUN), physical fitness and personal skill development. However, each player has a different view of what constitutes fun, fitness and skill development.
The CBA programs address these varying objectives, by offering a multi-tiered program ranging from the house league which represent basic level of play in all divisions, to the city-wide competitive teams which vary in number and composition across each division.
We have been a part of our community for over 30 years. Over the years, we have seen players go on to play in high school, college and even university. There have also been many players who have come back to coach. Their love of the game inspired them to share their knowledge with the next generation of players.
The CBA is governed by an executive committee of XX elected officers and an appointed President as required by its constitution. The executive members are responsible for all CBA operations.
The CBA is funded primarily by the players/parents user fees, and fundraiser initiatives make up the remainder of the CBA’s funding. The CBA is associated with the Montreal Basketball League (MBL).
